The JSP Tool Cobol tab of the Options dialog allows control of the JSP Tool
style Cobol generation. Users producing other languages or JSP-Cobol style COBOL
will see alternate tabs. The tab is only available when a structure file is
open. The first set of options relate to how labels are constructed in the generated
code :-
- Add node number to node label - when set the node number is included
in the node label, this guarantees that the label is unique (but makes it
longer and potentially less meaningful)
- Place numbers at the start of labels - when node numbers are added
this option governs whether they prefix or suffix the normal label name. This
is equivalent to he "PLAC. FIX" JSP Tool parameter
- Use "ALT" for selection labels - governs whether branches
of a selecting include an ALT number in their label
- Reset label/quit numbers between structures - when a file contains
multiple structures, this option governs whether or not the label and quit
number are reset
The next set of options relate to optional generation items :-
- Output generation information - when set a short header is included
at the start of each generated file indicating the time/date and source file
used. This is consistent with original operation of JSP Tool
- Expand Macros - if ticked JSP-MACRO emulation is enabled, macros ($ML) within the structure code are expanded using the defined macro libraries. Note: This option only appears when run from the Workbench.
- Remove superfluous condition brackets - in certain circumstances
JSP Tool would generate conditions with superfluous brackets, this option
can be used to total compatibility or else to tidy up the generated code.
- Force upper-case characters - when set all generated code will be
upper-case. This is equivalent to the "UPPERCASE" JSP Tool parameter.
- Add comments to identification column - when set short comments are
added in the identification column (characters 72-80) describing the type
of JSP construct that lines of generated code related to. This is equivalent
to the "GEN.DO/Q/C" JSP Tool parameter.
- Use NEXT-SENTENCE form of selection - when set selections are generated
using the longer NEXT SENTENCE form. This is equivalent to the "NEG.COND"
JSP Tool parameter.
- Quit Paragraph Number - the first paragraph number for generated quits
